Ending a Discussion
Pause or end a chat, then complete the post-conversation review.
Pause vs end
From the chat menu (⋯), you have two options:
Pause
Let your partner know you do not expect to reply for a chosen window — 1 to 24 hours. This is a courtesy notification, not a lock on the conversation. Both of you can keep chatting during a pause if you want to. Use it when you are stepping away but do not want your partner to wonder why you went quiet.
End
End the conversation permanently. You will be asked to confirm before the chat closes and neither of you can send more messages.
If your partner ends the conversation, you will see that they ended it.
Post-conversation review
After a conversation ends, Dialog Lab guides you through a short review:
- Did you feel heard? — thumbs up or down on whether you felt heard in the conversation.
- Follow-up — if you did not feel heard, note what went wrong; if you did, optionally send an appreciation note your partner will see.
- Private note — keep personal reflections only you can see.
This feedback helps Dialog Lab improve matching and moderation over time.
Reporting from the review
If something went wrong during the conversation, you can report your partner from the review screen or from the chat menu during an active conversation. You will be asked to provide details about what happened. The team reviews reports along with the chat log.
Reporting is separate from the AI moderator’s automatic warnings and blocks. See Moderation and How to Get Support for more.
Finding past conversations
Completed conversations appear in the Convos tab. You can revisit the AI-generated summary and your review responses from there.
